Message I don't post much but I'm here everyday. Just seems like so much has hit at once, I've got to share and please excuse the stream of consciousness post.

The Good...

Like many of you, I waxed the Z before winter sets in using Meguiar's cleaner wax. Pleased with the results, but if you use it, don't apply it to the entire car at once like the directions state. It was terrible to take off once it had dried completely.

The Bad...

Like Seedy, I hit a hunk of rubber in the road (not a gator, but a pickup bed mat) and it marked up the facia pretty bad and shattered my splash shield. Kudos to Coz for a great price on a replacement shield but UPS rapes you on shipping charges. Even with shipping, it's still a few bucks cheaper than the dealer.

After trying everything I could think of to get the skid marks off the facia, I decided to go at it with rubbing compound since I was going to wax it anyway. I start applying the elbow grease and think, "Man that facia sure is moving alot." So I get to pushing around and find this.

Great! Time for a new facia! Add that to the fact that I've got to replace my rear valence from some ugly coed that smacked me at the mall when I managed the local Barnes & Noble. Had to replace a rear wheel from that one too.

Ohh the pain...(sorry, no pics)

Took the Z in to get front brakes and pads installed along with a new MC as mine just started hemorrhaging. Brembo replacement stocks with metal master pads and master cylinder courtesy of ConceptZ once again. (No, Coz is not my boyfriend!) Pull into the dealer and a cloud of steam started billowing from under the hood and that sweet smell of burning coolant. Terrific, looks like a hose has turned loose even though I replaced them last year. I also want them to tell me where I'm leaking PS fluid before I buy the wrong hose. I go to the waiting room and a short time later the service advisor comes in with the words we all love to hear. "I need to show you something."
We head out to the bay and low and behold the top neck on my radiator has cracked big time. The tank can be replaced and might as well have the damn thing rodded while I'm at it. The advisor kind of grins and says, "You have a passenger too," and points to the teeny tiny space behind the pulley. I'll be damned if there wasn't a dead chipmunk wedged in there! I had to have killed it that morning. Fortunately, I didn't spray munkbits all over the engine bay. They're going to check for chewed wires and such while they have it but I know that I'm going to be bent over with labor charges.

To beat all, my wife's company has been sold and the home office where she works is being closed at the end of the month. There goes any money for replacing facia/valence for the forseeable furture. At least I was able to buy a jspec wheel from aspendog and jspec boots from Keepsake before the money dries up. Not installed yet, but will post pics when they are.

Even with all of this, it is a ten year old car with 160K on the clock and still the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Not like my DD POS 98 Ranger. People still ask me if the Z is new. Thanks for your long suffering!
